We are proud to announce that on 31 August 2023 we sponsored our first ever heart screening event at John Hampden Grammar School.
Our charity has close ties to John Hampden Grammar as Alexander Jansons attended this school before he left to go to university. Whilst this kind of heart screening is not effective in diagnosing myocarditis, it was important to us to team up with another charity, CRY, to promote the importance of heart health awareness in the young.
We were able to successfully screen 98 pupils, of which a few were referred for further testing and screening, which we believe is a significant step towards preventing potential disaster and saving lives. We were happy to have so many interested parents and pupils asking questions about us and CRY and the work we do.
