The Jansons Rowing Cup 2026

Every year, myocarditis changes lives without warning.

Often affecting young and otherwise healthy people, the condition can be difficult to diagnose and, in some cases, can lead to devastating consequences for individuals and families. Despite this, awareness of myocarditis remains far too low.

This June, businesses and communities from across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and the wider Thames Valley will come together at Dorney Lake for the 11th annual Jansons Rowing Cup helping to raise vital funds and awareness for Myocarditis UK.

Taking place on Wednesday 10th June 2026, the event is far more than a day of racing. It is a powerful community fundraiser supporting research, education and awareness around a serious and often hidden heart condition.

Why Awareness Matters

Myocarditis is an inflammatory condition affecting the heart muscle and can impact people of all ages. Symptoms may include chest pain, breathlessness, fatigue or heart palpitations, but they are often mistaken for more common illnesses.

For healthcare professionals, improving awareness and early recognition remains critically important. Greater understanding of myocarditis can help improve diagnosis, treatment and long-term outcomes for patients.

For families affected by the condition, increased awareness can make all the difference, and that’s why fundraising events such as the Jansons Rowing Cup are so important.

Today, Myocarditis UK has raised more than £1.23 million towards research and awareness initiatives, helping to support work that could ultimately save lives.

More Than a Corporate Rowing Event

Hosted by Jansons Property, the Jansons Rowing Cup has become one of the Thames Valley’s most distinctive charity events, bringing together businesses, supporters and local communities for a day built around teamwork and purpose.

Teams compete in traditional Cornish gig boats in a series of races designed to test communication, resilience and collaboration – with no rowing experience required.

Andy Jansons, Managing Director of Jansons Property and Chair of Myocarditis UK, explains; “Some of the best business relationships aren’t built in meeting rooms. They’re built through shared experiences and that’s exactly what the Jansons Rowing Cup offers. This is not just a day out. It is a chance to be part of something that has real impact.”

Fundraising That Makes a Difference

Fundraising is especially important this year as Myocarditis UK continues expanding its work to support research and improve awareness of myocarditis across the UK.

Every donation and every team taking part helps the charity:

  • Fund vital myocarditis research
  • Improve education and awareness
  • Support families affected by the condition
  • Help increase understanding among healthcare professionals
  • Shine a light on a condition that is too often overlooked

With only a limited number of boats remaining, businesses interested in taking part are encouraged to register quickly. To secure a place please contact Zoe Cornthwaite directly at [email protected].

How You Can Help

Even if you are not entering a team, there are many ways to support the work of Myocarditis UK:

  • Donate to support life-changing research and awareness
  • Sponsor a participating team
  • Share information about myocarditis across your networks
  • Encourage your workplace or community to get involved
  • Help spread awareness of the symptoms and impact of myocarditis

Whether you are rowing, donating, sponsoring or simply sharing the message, your support could help save lives and ensure more families receive the answers, support and awareness they need.
