If there’s a cause particularly close to your heart, you may be keen to do some fundraising in the near future, especially important at the moment when you think about the impact that the coronavirus pandemic has had on charities, with 53 per cent saying that charitable donations have fallen since the start of the crisis.
There are all sorts of fun and interesting ways in which you can help to raise money for your favourite charities, although it’s important to make sure you bear social distancing restrictions in mind at the moment when thinking about the activities you want to undertake.
A bake day will always be a good way to fundraise and you can have a huge amount of fun cooking up a storm in the kitchen, making all sorts of delicious treats to sell. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time together as a family, as well!
If you want to think a little bigger, however, what about holding a charity auction? You could get in touch with local businesses to see if they want to donate something to go under the hammer and, covid permitting, you could even organise a venue, sell tickets, have refreshment stands and so on… it could be a lot of fun.
You could even consider doing some kind of livestreaming event, which means you don’t have to worry about the pandemic at all. Whatever your challenge is, doing it online means you can extend your reach to an even wider audience than before. The more people that watch, the more money you could raise.
We’d love to hear what fundraising ideas you have, so if you’ve got anything in the pipeline, get in touch with us here at heart charity Myocarditis UK to let us know what you’re up to.
